MK Nature Design is happy to update the Dakota Pipeline incident.  The Army Corps of Engineers have asked the Dakota Pipeline to voluntarily cease work near or under Lake Oahe, the water source of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.  They are also asking for a peaceful resolution to the situation.

The federal government has asked the Dakota Pipeline to voluntarily cease construction of the pipeline near or under Lake Oahe via the Army Corps of Engineers.  The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe live near this lake and rely on it for their water source.  The federal government went on to say that there had to be a reform of laws governing Indigenous input in infrastructure projects such as pipelines (Indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com, September 2016).    The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe made their objections under the National Historic Preservation Act and the National Environmental Policy Act.
